Summary: This week on ‘Meet The Team’ we are introducing Vanessa: the very talented web graphic designer who helps us make the best intranet software for small to mid size companies.
Not to brag, but we know our product is the cat’s meow, and it’s because we figured out what it takes to keep this kitty purring. It’s our wonderful staff. So now that we’ve let that cat out of the bag, let us introduce to you the creator of all things beautiful, our graphic web designer: Vanessa. Vanessa is a creative powerhouse with an endless pool of ideas – which is good because there’s always 101 tasks on her plate. But she charges forward like a champ and does it all with a smile.
Meet The Team Behind The Best Intranet Software
What Is Your Role At Intranet Connections:
I’m part of the marketing team and my official title is Web Graphic Designer. It means I design all the things and code some things too. I create all the marketing assets, design email templates, design intranet themes, and manage our website. Also, I create all of our blog images (including this one!).
Out of high school, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. I got my Medical Office Assistant certificate and worked as a MOA for seven years, then decided it was time to move into nursing. Almost immediately after registering for a nursing program, I had a change of heart. I wanted to utilize my creative talents!
I had been casually drawing and painting the majority of my life and also fell in love with computers at a very young age. I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the Interactive Design program. After obtaining my diploma, I was hired as a Web Designer at a crowdfunding company. I worked there for two years before moving to Intranet Connections. My career swap definitely paid off.
How Long Have You Been Working For Intranet Connections?
I have been at Intranet Connections for a little over a year and I love it here. The people are the best part!
What Has Been Your Favourite Project At Intranet Connections?
Probably designing our ‘Meet The Team‘ page. Prior to it, we had little to nothing about our team online, so it was really great to be able to showcase the amazing people behind Intranet Connections. Not to mention doing the photo shoot with the props was quite hilarious.

Which Core Value Do You Relate To The Most? Simplicity, Positivity, Integrity, Creativity or Empathy?
It’s really hard to choose just one but I think I will go with Positivity. I’ve always been a glass half full kind of person and I don’t let the little things get to me. I’m generally always in a good mood and usually have a smile on my face.
What’s One Intranet Feature You Can’t Work Without:
For my job, in particular, it would be the Advanced Theme Editor. I use it almost daily when designing intranet themes. It makes it easy to customize almost any part of your intranet, including colors, images, and fonts.
What Do You Like To Do Outside Of Work?
I spend a lot of my free time playing video games (I have a decent collection of old school cartridge games and systems). I also like taking photos with my analog camera. Yep, I still use film. I do try to get some exercise in too! I especially love hiking and being outdoors.
On A Scale Of 1 to ‘Nature Valley Crunch Bar’, How Clean Is Your Desk?
Well, I’ve been told by my manager that my desk looks like an amusement park. I think I might even take the cake for the messiest desk in the office. Some of my desk features include; a Flareon plushie, a Gengar (my favorite Pokemon), a cat balloon, a fortune teller (one of the paper ones we used to make in high school), Lego, a storm trooper Pez dispenser… I’ll stop there.
Offering the best intranet software is no small task, but compiling a fabulous team who works smart in the office, has the curiosity of a cat and the tenacity of a lion certainly helps.
