My Toolbox and Content Sharing
My Toolbox is indispensible for employees and site managers. Access the “My Toolbox” located in the top right corner of every page to share content, bookmark, print, or email. Site managers can jump into admin settings from any page through this toolbox.
Social Employee Directory
The Social Employee Directory is where employees can connect and network with each other through employee walls, real-time chat, skill-find, employee tagging, in/out status updates, subscription alerts, and personalized widget pages for true corporate social networking. Our directory has an emphasis on social capabilities, but you can easily disable them or choose who has the corporate social networking capabilities and who does not.
Employee Org Chart
See the supervisor and manager relationships for all employees through the directory Org Chart. One click gets you into an employee's profile where you can post on their wall, chat, call, or view their profile information.
Corporate Social Networking and Message Walls
Within the Social Employee Directory we have Facebook-like Message Walls for employees to post questions, seek advice, have conversations and tap the collective knowledge. To help with social governance, each employee wall has an area for guidelines to be posted by the intranet admin. You can pick and choose who can participate in the walls, so you might want to start out small with a focus group, or use the message walls to push out management messages to staff. Open it up and let everyone freely contribute and learn from each other. We put you in control.
Follow your colleagues, team members, managers and employees that you work with. By following a colleague, you will receive an aggregated feed of their message wall activity, including their wall posts and the conversations they are contributing to. The colleagues view also offers quick information about your closest co-workers, including immediate access to call, email, chat and view their status updates and activities. Our simple star system makes it easy for employees to follow and colleague each other.
Employee Status Updates and In/Out Tracking
Status updates are a way for employees to see (at a glance) what everyone is working on, where they are at, if they are out of the office, attending a conference, or are on vacation. We combine in/out board functionality with a text box to enter in status updates. Employees can mark themselves as out of office and set a return date and time. Set future away dates for upcoming vacations, corporate travel, flex-time or personal absences.
Community sites are individual pages on your social intranet dedicated to communities, teams, projects. These sites have their own landing pages with widgets where you can add opinion polls, surveys, live chat, embedded videos, community news. Share documents, blog about community events, create an ideas exchange, solicit feedback, engage with social networking and message walls.
Instant chat is available through the Social Employee Directory, and also from every employee’s mini-card. Mini-cards are attached to all content, showing who authored/published the information. From there you can click on the “instant chat” icon to launch an internal messaging window.
Employee Birthdays and Anniversaries
View who is having a birthday this month, week, today – as well as company anniversaries on the intranet home page. Employees can also view upcoming birthdays of colleagues and their managers through their personal workspace.
Employee Personalized Workspace
A personalized area of the Employee Directory where you can Personalize Your Intranet Experience. Follow colleagues, set personal alerts and content subscriptions. Have your own page for creating personal widgets. Create bookmarks to your frequently used documents and content. Social and personalization tools can be disabled with one click.
Blogging on your social intranet is a great social format to share and communicate your corporate message and goals. Create blogs for departments, projects, management, executives, and employees.
Build topic forums for employees to participate in conversations, discussions, and best practices. Employees can subscribe to topic threads to stay on top of the input being shared.
Our photo albums are a place where employees can find company logos and branding images, or share event photos, project site photos. Use screen snaps of your intranet and create an album to walk employees through the key features of your intranet.
Open your social intranet for brainstorming and give employees the opportunity to share ideas for new products, increased productivity, or streamline procedures.
We all enjoy being recognized by our peers and this social intranet application does just that. Nominate your fellow co-workers and give them public kudos for a job well done.
Share Your News
Allow employees to share their own news; who got a promotion, who is retiring, who just had a baby. You can moderate news entries and set them up for pre-approval prior to publication.
Create knowledgebases to store FAQs, how-to's and open it up for employees to comment and answer, sharing their knowledge in an area that is collaborative and searchable.
Set up shop for your company t-shirts and other promotional gear. The Company Store won't provide cash transactions but it will track inventory with an intranet shopping cart utility.
Recipes / Buy & Sell
A great engagement tool, sharing recipes and participating in an employee buy and sell can initially draw employees to your intranet when you first launch.
Comments and Ratings
All content on your intranet can enable employee commenting and ratings. Authors will automatically be notified of comment and rating entries. Control if you want to have a thumbs-up and/or thumbs down rating system. Comments and ratings contribute to the overall health of your intranet and allow you to gauge popularity.
Social Ranking on Search Results
Intranet content, documents, policies and other files are all available through global searches. Turn on Social Ranking to control the priority of search results. Social ranking will return content and documents with higher priority based on number of views, comments, like-ratings and content shares. Social ranking can be enabled or disabled and pre-defined popularity aging will decrease the value of social actions based on time. Search results also show snippets of content, with keyword highlights.
Content and Employee Tagging
Global tagging is available site wide for Intranet Connections. You can tag all content, as well as Employee Tagging within our Social Employee Directory. Tags will group people and content based on similarities. For example, you may choose to tag employees “First Aid” who are trained in first aid. Or you could use a tag based on a project, a customer, or common interest such as “squash” or employees who are willing to “carpool”. Employees and content tagged with commonality make it easier to find what (or who) you need.
