Why Intranet Connections

What makes us unqiue?

Our marketing and blog efforts talk about building culture over features because without engagement and participation of your employees the intranet's effectiveness will fade. Starting points for intranets should focus on a combination of business tools to help employees in their jobs, and social tools that lend engagement, participation, learning from peers, and building on your company culture. That is our recipe for intranet success.

So how are we unique? It is in the heart of our core values that no one else can deliver on, because it is unique to us. If it resonates with you, we hope we can establish a long lasting and rewarding relationship with you and your intranet.

Simplicity

The grass roots of our software is simplicity. Our CEO used to be an Intranet Manager. Her background is not as a programmer and her speciality is not in technology. She is your classic end-user who sees the beauty in keeping it simple. The areas of the intranet your employees use must be simple and inutitive. We do this through consistency = ease of use.

Creativity

We believe your creativity on the intranet can come out through brand and design so we have a robust and flexible point-and-click theme builder. Creativity also comes from the support of your culture, and the participation of your employees. Creativity can help you acheive engagement and there are many tools built-in to help you achieve this. Our social widgets for the intranet home page focuses on employees, delivering the company vision, and sharing with your fellow co-workers. You can follow colleagues and communicate through employee message walls as part of our Social Employee Directory. Similar to how the wall works in Facebook, our message walls offer employees the chance to post questions, give advice, share knowledge and learn from each other. People helping people builds the foundation for a successful intranet. You can read more about the power of our Social Employee Directory on our Intranet Connections White Paper

Integrity

Transparency builds trust, and for the world of intranets, transparency really helps to promote self-governance. Although you can use Intranet Connections with both logged in and anonymous users, when logged in (or authenticated through our built-in Active Directory sync) we maintain transparency. This means all published content has a mini-card that shows the author, including when employees contribute through comments, ratings and conversations. The mini card shows the author's photo, their name, how to contact them; and you can send them an email, start a quick chat with them, or post on their wall from the mini-card.

We have other methods of delivering on content integrity through approval workflows, delegation of managing department sites and community pages, read/accept policies on documents, automated archiving and clean-up, and content review dates. You can read more about these features on our Intranet Connections White Paper

Team Work

Here at Intranet Connections we are not just a company, we are a team. We all help each other and work together to hopefully deliver you great value. Team work is just as important for our intranet software. You'll find many outlets to foster team work and collaboration with Intranet Connections, including web documents, our e-form builder, instant chat, the social directory, social networking through message walls, status updates with in/out capabilities, discussion forums, blogs, employee nominations for kudos, and capture employee ideas and feedback.

The popular functionaltiy of quickly and easily building sub-sites also can promote team work and help your employees find the resources and information they need. Create sub-sites for departments, projects, or communities. Add tools to your sub-sites, such as widgets, applications, documents, contacts, blogs, training, calendars, photo albums, electronic forms, policies and procedures. Or build your own content applications with our Application Builder. The possibilities are endless.
